Roma, 12 lug. – For the latest episode of its interview series ‘EU Verified’, Askanews had the pleasure of sitting down with Czech MEP Mikuláš Peksa of the European Pirate Party. Mr Peksa was elected a Member of the Parliament in 2019 and is serving in the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE). He is also a substitute member in the newly formed Special Committee on the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as a trained biophysicist.
The interview covered a wide range of topics, including the strengths and weaknesses of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, MEP Peksa’s long-standing advocacy for harm reduction-based addiction policies, what the Czech Republic’s presidency of the European Council will bring, and how best to tackle misinformation.
‘EU Verified’ offers a platform for in-depth discussions with policymakers involved in drafting and implementing one of the most ambitious policies the EU has ever formulated in the health arena, Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan. Our interviewees have been carefully selected to give a voice to all those involved in the discussions and to ensure the EU ethos is upheld in the form of transparency and openness.
